Ever Wonder How MINIs are Modded??

Ever Wonder How Mini's are Modded??

Ever wonder just how many Mini's have aftermarket wheels, or camber plates and a multitude of other Mods??

Please help us with our classifications for the 1st Annual MOTD Mini Show. Download this Excel Spreadsheet, fill it out and return via email to gnatster@gmail.com.

We will report back a breakdown consisting of how many Mini's are submitted and the popularity of various mods in that sample. See how you stack up and in the process help out the MOTD Mini Show Committee

We are looking the use the following classes:
Mad-Modder
Modded - MC
Modded - MCS
Stock
Classic

Please indicate what class you think your Mini should show in. This is not limited to those that may be interested in entering but to all. The more data points we can obtain the better we can classify the Mini's fairly. Note: Classic is not listed for this test.

Please feel to leave comments in the thread MOTD Mini Show Classification Comments found in the 6th Annual MINIs on the Dragon (April 30-May 4, 2008) Forum located under the major section National Events.

Thanks for your help,

The MOTD Mini Show Committee

Please note all email address's collected will be discarded after the comment period has been closed. The Excel Spreadsheet is being hosted by NAM and is free of any viruses.

so, a tow hook or fire extinguisher is worth as many points as Recaro's? No points for leather dash, gauge faces, trim, etc for the interior either, yet swapping to a non-airbag steering wheel is worth extra.

Never said it was perfect. Hence the reason we went public, help to make it better.

Make it a survey and you might get some more responses. We're generally lazy folks...

Interesting idea but since we have a $0 budget... We are just a bunch of volunteers using the tools we have at hand.

Now if someone wants to donate an account to us...

Gnumeric doesn't like the file (I don't use windows). But I've only added a grill badge holder and light pulsar so I don't know if you really wanted my response, anyway.

It's a MINI show.... vinyl is worth just as much as recaro's or custom wheels hahaa

**Gnatster....I'm all for what you are doing, so the following isn't meant to be an insult or anything.....just constructive criticism to help possibly improve the show potential. I'm looking forward to seeing how this turns out **

All kidding aside though.....i do think some more options should be added or something. I know it's not common in the MINI community, which seems to be about bling and flashy spoilers etc.....but seeing some subtle/euro OEM+ options would be awesome. Think about things like the OEM switches(Gas cap, tailgate handle, sideskirts, side markers, sidemarker grilles, etc), euro domestic market mods like euro arches or euro tails, things like debadging or shaving stuff, subtle things like cleared front turn indicators.

I also believe that you shouldn't have to have an MCS rear bumper for your MCS front bumper to count.....it could easily be a styling choice, not an incomplete "bodykit".

And strictly as a selfish note...i would love to see the wheel mod selection atleast taken a little further with an added area for wheel customizations like widened wheels.....but that's just me. Doesnt seem right to compare a set of Konigs that were painted to a set of multi-piece wheels that have been totally re-worked from being powdercoated to wider aftermarket lips and aftermarket bolts etc.

I would just love to see some points given to the few subtle modders out there even though they won't be the majority. Flashy cars are awesome....but "clean" cars should be given the same respect
