Could bring along some of the Clay Pipe stuff from the MD area, but it really isn't all that good. Maybe a growler of something from Franklins down in the Hyattsville/College Park area, they have some good stuff at times.

Latest Beer Swap Info

Ok so this is starting to come together.

When: May 4th or 5th, 2005 Time to be determined (After 4pm)

Where: Cabin 429 MKO/OT, Fontana Village

Who & What: The following is a list of who is brining what beer (the "from" is where the beer is from, not the person)

PassatDoTd(me): Abita Beers - Purple Haze, Turbo Dog, Red Ale & Amber. All from Abita Springs, Louisiana. PH & TD are guaranteed, the others may change

CSAMF: Yuengling Brewery(types to be determined), from Pottsville, PA

Red Ryder: Red Oak from Greensboro, NC & Carolina Blonde from Mooresville, NC

Miniwildcat: Spoetzl Brewery: Shiner Bock, from Shiner, TX

chrisnl: Sea Dog Brewery: Blue Paw, maybe other varieties, from Topsham, Maine

Byron: Yards Brewery: Tavern Ale, from Philadelphia, PA

LouiefromStLou: Various Microbrews from the St. Louis, MO area

If anyone listed above has changed their minds, has more detail or has questions, please email me or pm me. matthewrohrbach@gmail.com

When the time gets nearer and we see how many of us are participating we can each determine what quantity we will bring. I would suggest you bring 1 or 2 bottles extra for tasting so people can have a taste test before they swap. I will see if I can bring little medicine cups or something for the taste testing.

Anybody that wants to be added to that list can email me or post on here.

Also, we still have two requested beers that no one has stepped up yet and said they can bring. They are: Bell's Beer from Kalamazoo, Michigan & Fat Tire Beer from the New Belgium Brewery in Colorado (also sold in Montana).

Here's hoping we can have a kick butt 1st annual beer swap!

Matt

Any specific Abita flavors you'd like me to bring other than what I mentioned Lois? Purple Haze is my favorite but it isn't as good in the bottle as the draft. Still good though mind you. Thanks for bringing some Fat Tire.

Awesome. Let me know what it is when ever you figure it out...unless you want it to be a surpise in which case I'll mark that down.

Any possibility to move this to Friday. I don't think I will be there on Thursday. From what I have read, it looks like several will not be there until Friday.

It's certainly not out of the question. We can pick the final date much closer to the event. I'll change the earlier post to reflect that it'll be thursday or friday.

I'll bring some Iron City (from Pittsburgh, PA) and I will also throw some Yuengling in for good measure. I am in the hunt for Moose Drool beer brewed in Bozeman Montanna if anyone is coming from out that way .

Well we'll definitely have enough Yuengling. Nothing wrong with that. For those who haven't had it, you'll love it.

I'll add Moose Drool to the request list and we'll see if we can't get some of that for ya.

And thanks for contributing the Iron City.

i may be able to bring you some bells, if it is in season by then. they make a few. most like the oberon. take a look.... http://www.bellsbeer.com/brands.asp

there is also a brewer just down the street from me called Dragonmead! http://www.dragonmead.com/

There "Final Absolution Trippel" is 8.5%! and it's rather tasty too . i might be able to fit a 1/4 barrle net to the DT tool box and jacks. but i can tell you this stuff is not cheap. http://www.dragonmead.com/Menu_Items.htm

i'll see what i can do about brings some goodies....

Awesome man! Hope Bell's is in season so PPE can get her fix. Definitely bring some Dragonmead. Wouldn't it be better to bring bottles though as opposed to a barrel? Either way I have you on the list.

I could also forge around for some Maryland/Delaware/Virginia brew to trade for some local brewed ciders, if anyone has any.
