We just purchased a 2008 clubman with a manuel trans. I know with my honda a changed the fluid. My clubman has 97000 miles and not sure what was done to it.
Go ahead and change it, these 'for life' sales pitch are rubbish. Always undo the top refill bolt before you drain the oil to make sure you can get new oil in !!! Oil types and quantity knowledge after a quick search. Lots of threads here.
It would be a good idea to just change ALL the fluids, examine the serpentine belt closely as well as brake...well, all the normal wear items. Then you'll know and will have a time stamp on everything.
Manual Trans fluid here DIY here. I would do it at 100K. Most of the time 100K is the time to do all the fluids and since you just got it, its piece of mind to have them all done.

Welcome to the forum! Hope you enjoy your Clubman - I'm on my second R55 and they are blast to drive!
We usually recommend changing the trans oil at a 100k anyway so it's a good idea and you will likely notice it a little easier to shift with some new MTL rather than the stock fluid https://www.waymotorworks.com/redline-mtl.html
also like said before a good time to check the belt for any cracking. And also some spark plugs if they haven't been done.
