Yes, would love to hear what that R58 sounds like now.

Much better, fills out that front wheel pretty good.

I like my brakes almost as much as the turbo. I've become sort of a stoplight racer. Take off fast, come in hot and brake! How did you get LORDVDR on the tires, stickon letters?

Love braking like that. LOLZ

I got the tire letters from @TredWear on Instagram. Their website is: TredWear

Ask for Mike and tell them LORDVDR sent you. You won't be disappointed.

Did you get the flash? Follow the normal break in procedure like other pads and you will be good.

Also the first time you drive it, you will be like "wow those things work" as you push yourself into the seat belt.

I didn't drive it like a maniac. I'm going to ease into the brakes. Eventually...I'll be stopping on a dime.

Any All4 plans you'd be able to share?

Sure thing...

The logic is that the entire exhaust system has to be taken out and most likely the driveshaft and transfer case will run directly down the center. The exhaust will either have to be cut out of the side or on the hood somewhere. That's the basic logic that we are working with so far. As for the actual 4WD tech to go in? Probably going to need a donor MINI Countryman R60 for parts. Probably will need to fabricate and alter parts for sure.

There is a big gap between the fender well and fender trim.

You may not drive this car very often on public roads but how do you keep dirt and debris from going inside the fenders? Or, is it because the car is on a lift?

As for the JCW brakes, I am wondering why you waited so long to buy this upgrade for your project.

I cannot figure I could drive my Coupe without them.

The gap you see is partly because the vehicle is on the lift and also the metal has been rolled out and up to give the flares room to breathe. From time to time I clean out the pockets of debris. Nothing major goes in there. I drive in NYC and you'd be surprised what's on the roads these days.

I waited this long for the brakes because when I got the car originally the kit was WAY expensive. Now that I work for MINI, the discount I got plus the the retail price came down a lot, equals a perfect opportunity that I couldn't pass up.

My vehicle isn't a JCW. I bought an S and I've been building it up over the past few years.

Any idea how compatible the Coupe tranny and Countryman/Paceman tranny is? They look pretty similar, but the SKU of the R60/R61 transmissions say they are only used for those models.

Where are you estimating the cost of parts/materials to land? It looks to be at least $5k.

That's a good question...have zero clue. I'm sure on some level it can be compatible...it just needs "persuasion". lol

Estimate will probably be more than that...given that I would probably have to get a decent salvage donor car and then figure out fabrication and then installation and labor. It's gotta be like 5K-10K.

Don't forget trying to implement the All4 system into the Coupe ECU/BCU...

I think eventually it might be easier to retrofit a different solution in that is fully mechanical. Either that or electric motors in the rear - either center mounted with axles or one mounted next to each hub.

I've always liked the electric route, but that's a lot of money to drop on something that I would have to develop on my own.

Oh that hasn't been overlooked either. There's always more than one way to do figure stuff out. I'm not even close to the point of beginning this aspect of modifications yet. It's probably a few years away. I'm open to any and all opportunities.

When we put an R60 All4 engine in an R56 the R60 wire harness includes an extra wire from the ECU to the PTO transfer box as I recall. Can't remember if the signal is VSS or load that tells the transfer gear box to vary torque to the rear. Pretty sure it was vehicle speed though. Wish I had pulled the All4 engine myself so I could have had pictures.

Maybe one of our brethren here with an All4 will climb underneath and snap some shots of the PTO interface.

Ahhhh I see. They usually restock them every few months. They should have them again soon. Send them either an email or DM on Instagram and ask for Eddie. Tell him "LORDVDR" sent you.
