They wouldn't dare pull over LORDVDR...if they know what's good for them.

That is why the new law is a problem, you don't have to get pulled over, the check is done during annual inspection. I've had tint on my cars for 20 years, but never pulled over, and law enforcement has never gone out of their way to enforce the tint laws and generally just added it on to a speeding or other traffic violation stops ! Our Coupes fall into a 70% light transmission in New York State for all windows, my wife's Countryman only requires 70% on the driver and passenger door Windows as long as there's side mirrors!

This is not the car you seek *Jedi hand wave*

I've been pulled over pretty dark tints on the Jeep, unfortunately it was for speeding, they could of cared less about the tints

I wonder how the state enforces invalid inspections, and if there is a risk to the dealership losing their inspection station status ?

Do you have to pass smog control from new every year in NY?

I would believe so.

Yeah, they have smog controls here, but I have an OBDII switch to make the tune go back to stock so when they are running the tests it tricks the computer into thinking it's a regular car. (Gotta love the guys at Manic for doing that.)

Wow, that's the biggest engine mod job I've ever heard about. This wasn't done by a ManicMini dealer was it? There's a shop in Tempe that does Manic tunes for like $500 but nothing like all those parts you got. Jeez. I'm considering having one done on my car when it's out or warranty later this year.

Yeah...I work at MINI of Manhattan and I took my car to the guys at TyrolSport in Flushing, Queens. They are a licensed dealer of Manic Motorsports. The tune isn't expensive...it's the parts that you need to do certain Stages. At Stage III you're definitely dropping insane money down. (of course doing this over 3 years offsets the hit money-wise.)

If you plan on keeping your car forever like a good R58 owner you are...you won't regret the tune.

Stage III is absolutely insane. Ooooopha!

You should check out our facebook.. We did GTX car a long time ago and it put down 367whp. Last I checked we are still holding that built n14 hp record in the US. We also put 317whp down on stock N14 engine for another record. We just don't post here very often

Update 1/5/17: Got my JCW Brembo Brakes today. Install should happen sometime this week; just waiting on the braided steel brake lines to come in the mail.

Wow, I had no idea. I'll probably have my Coupe tuned there later this year after the warranty expires.

The one of the thermostat sensors went bad. It's in the shop getting replaced. Stuff happens...it's a car.

Yea, that's what i figured but was just checking. Word of caution bed the pads in a before you hammer down. Just like you would do with EBC or hawk pads. When the stock pads are used, after a while they will squeal a little here and there, not much, it's just the stock JCW pads doing their work, they only do it from time to time. When you hit them the first time be prepared it might jerk you into the seat belt, also if you dont have a belt on you will feel like you are going through the dash, these are a big upgrade from the stock MCS brakes.
