Could you tell which JCW (200hp/210hp) by the JCW badge serial under the hood? The '05 JCW I'm buying (haven't seen in person) has JCW brakes, exhaust, badges. The airbox was replaced with an Alta, so I dont know if it ever came with one.. I'll have to ask.
The JCW is a good deal for me regardless, I found one the same price as all the other S models, so it was a no brainer. It would be great if it has the injectors and suspension. This thing has EVERY option (Nav, 18" wheels, convertible), so I hope they didn't get cheap on the JCW kit.
Pull off the intercooler and see what color the injectors are. If they are black, it's the early model 200hp dealer installed JCW kit that came with everything except the JCW intake and the 380cc JCW injectors. You might be able to get in there and look under the intercooler without even taking it off.
If the injectors are light blue, then it's the factory installed 210hp JCW kit, that came with everything the 200hp kit did in addition to the JCW intake, and JCW 380cc injectors.
My car had the dealer installed 200hp kit with the smaller injectors. I installed 380cc injectors and CAI and got a new tune....to be honest, I didn't notice much difference ....if any.

I do not know how to tell from serial number but I would suspect 200 kit since the 210 kit added JCW intake and I do not know why someone would replace JCW with Alta. The 210 kit also had the larger 380 fuel injectors. You can tell the 380 injectors by the blue body. The suspension is not part of the 210 kit and was a separate order. The JCW springs are Red. Maybe you can get some photos of injectors and springs.
Looks like it had the JCW intake, the previous owner yanked it off without knowing what it was. It comes with it, luckily.
Can I assume it's got the injectors too? It's out of state, so I can't check myself just yet.
Also, it's got big brakes, can I assume springs too?
If you have a BMW or Mini dealer run the JCW tag number you should be able to tell what size injectors it has. And if you take the VIN and run the decoder you might see what suspension is has. The spring package, 226, is not part of the 3AL JCW package.
How can I determine if my car was a factory JCW or dealer installed JCW package? It has some signatures on the intercooler, the PO told me she bought it from a collector. As far as I can tell only 1000 Monte Carlo 40th Anniversary's (2004) were made. I further read that only 10 of the 1,000 were 40th Anniversary cars with a full JCW package. Does anyone know for sure? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Your JCW kit is dealer installed. Factory JCW was not available until 2006 model year.
The MC40 Edition is a trim package. It has the red leather interior, and exterior stickers (which your car no longer has). http://mc40.com/ http://mc40.com/press_release.html
The MC40 Edition did not include the JCW engine kit. Along with the JCW engine kit, the previous owner(s) of your car also installed a number of aftermarket items separately (unrelated to MC40 or the engine kit): aero kit, JCW wheels, JCW brakes, carbon fiber hood scoop.
Thanks RKW. The link posted above is the best reference I could find. However, this is an Australian car, but mine has all the same options (18 inch wheels R95, carbon hood scoop, big brakes, suspension etc.) I guess I found a rare car. My car has the full 40th Anniversary trim kit. The console plaque #225, the extra volt and oil temp gauges, the carbon fiber dash, red & black seats, 40th shift ****, 40th floor mats, and JCW aero kit. The motor has all the goodies as well, JCW airbox, head work, light blue injectors, exhaust. So, my best guess is that someone at some point took a 40th Anniversary and heavily modified it. I have not had any luck finding other 40th Anniversary cars with the full JCW package. Also the intercooler was autographed, but I can't make out the signatures.
