Put the roof rails on to see what they looked like

Ordered the rook rails from Mini. Had to get the official ones because they had the word "Mini" on them of course. Plan to use the roof top box for long trips and even though we have the bike rack for the back, will put one bike on the roof so that we can bring three with us on road trips. Maybe put a paddle board up their on occasion. I won't leave the racks on but they were simple to install in a couple of minutes. The rubber gaskets for the top rails were missing from mine (ordered direct from Mini) so have to go back to the dealership and see if they can get me some. I guess they just keep the dirt out of the rails? Anyway they look good and I don't notice any wind noise, just drove my wife to the airport and was listening, didn't hear anything.

Swapped out the stock grill for a JCW grill and removed the JCW emblem and found the Sport emblem. I moved my license plat to the tow hook screw

I also modified the grill so the cold air intake could breathe a little better and yes I have seen an improvement of .5 to .8 mpg increase. I got the idea from a fellow miniac on this forum. I'm looking into extend the CAI to reach the grill itself to see if that would help. I'm not worried about hydro-locking since it goes through to the back of the engine there is an air channel for the filter which then goes back to the front of the engine to feed the turbo. Is it me or does this seem like a long ride for the air to reach the turbo, but then again if it were more direct then I would worry about hydro locking the engine

Next step to paint the Brake vent intakes and color match the grills accent line

Nice mod. When you stand back, you cannot tell the grille is modded.

+1 one of the top roof first mods. The long ones make it look like a remote control car a little.

simple install, would recommend using a magnetic driver so you dont drop bolts. dosnt block vent but will hit it.
still waiting on my rotors from ESC then paint calipers and snap a few new pics

A few things since picking up my new (to me) 2016 two weeks ago:

CravenSpeed Chimex to remove that godawful chime from putting a sheet of paper on the passenger seat.
Installed OEM crossbars that I got the dealer to throw into the deal.
Installed Yakima Loadwarrior roof basket that I found locally on Craigslist.
Installed CravenSpeed XXL phone holder. Really nice!

Last night installed OEM mudflaps front and rear. The rear underneath screw was miserable to put on, but I eventually got it.

On order:
BimmerTech flash to get satellite radio.

Then I think I'm set for the time being....
