R58 Strut Tower Brace

Hi

I have read one comment on here about how it tightens up Steering response.

My question has it made the ride rougher?

This is my little play car for errands I am not looking for a harsher ride just a few mods to improve steering feel.

Any input would help Thanks in advance.

Looks like this what you were looking for, but it adds rigidity a bit, Are you on factory run flats ? Those can make the ride harsh, switch to non runflats and it a big difference. Also a front and rear sway bar will also help the control.

It appears I am running the

CONTISPORTCONTACT 3 SSR

They ride harsh handle OK the grip is good I don't see the R58 breaking traction like my wife's Cayman S did with them.

I am a fan of the Michlen Pilot Sport Tires

I had those on my original R58 JCW R112 wheels , they did not last long and got loud after a while, that's a stock tire MINI used for a while in the runflat, Its i little hard, and little more money, get ride of the runflats and you Will notice a big difference, get the STB for bit more front end rigidity.

The strut brace will make little to no difference as the frame rails are so short that it doesn't need stiffening.
If you want to improve the handling the rear sway bar like an Hsport comp rear bar will do the most for handling. Also a good set of non runflat tires and good alignment

Strut Brace Update

Picked up the JCW front Strut Brace today, Installed it in about 10 min no issues on R58 Coupe JCW.

There is a Brake vent that is touching the strut brace but it's double insulted and I added some rubber insulating tape to protect it.

Handling is actually slightly different turn in is more direct and chassis is a bit firmer.
