6-spd Getrag Transmission For 05-06 MCS???

Hi All,
I've got an 04 MINI Cooper and am looking to upgrade to a new transmission.
Where can I find/Buy a new(or used) 6-spd Getrag Transmission For an 05-06 R53 MCS?
I've searched the interwebs high and low and, aside from the one at Mini Mania (for $4100+400 core charge), I haven't found a single thing... Any help at all would be very much appreciated.

Thanks, Alex.

On eBay, there is a seller who is selling reconditioned mini Cooper transmission for about $1400...shipped. getrag, same transmission, the works.

I just purchased one of these from the big Ebay seller, received it last week. I actually opened it up to inspect the internals, was not "fully remanufactured" with new bearings as advertised. It is probably a functional used transmission with a fresh coat of paint, but not at all the condition as described. Buyer beware!

Really? That's not good. The description says reconditioned, as in, like new. Did you get in contact with them? What did they say about that?

This is worrisome. I was seriously considering buying a transmission from that guy sometimes down the line, but this....

Let me know what happens, yeah?

Thanks for those links. I've always been worried about where would be able to find a 6-speed transmission for a CVT swap, now I have a couple more resources.

Cool. I am thinking to get an 05-06 transmission. Do they just bolt right in or is there coding work involved to make it work?

I can get you a brand new 05-06 gearbox for less than $3k.

It will install with no issues or extra parts, but the cruise control will not work if you are going from an 04 trans to the 05 trans.

Hi Way. Is there any workaround for cruise control? I use that a lot.
