So what's the significance of 41 in binary on Apple's tag?

In Siva news...

Hit 1000 miles yesterday, and had my first "idiot in an SUV" encounter about the same time. Of course when I passed her she acted like she did nothing wrong. I think I need to install an air horn...

Still waiting on my Blue LED kit from FastMINI... Ordered over three weeks ago and it still hasn't shipped.

Hoping to get tint and cold air intake done this week... at least DDM Works will make sure my items are in and installed in a timely manner.

Siva, 2008 LB/B MCSa, Born June 19, 2008. John Cooper, MINI Bulldog, Born July 17, 2008 (Day my MINI arrived at the dealer, and the real John Cooper's birthday!).

I'm in - This group made the entire journey bearable and fun!
I just had the alarm installed on my PW/B Friday. The lights are very cool and the beep is minimal. I haven't set it off yet - though I'm a little curious to know what it sounds like - in case it ever did go off.

Photos to come soon!

CJP, you should set it off for the first time when it is nice adn guiet outside so you can really hear it ab appreciate the sound.

May I suggest sometime around 3:30 am?

That way the neighbors can enjoy it too.

Sign me up! I've got 500 miles on Shadow 2.0 in a week. I've put new wheels and tires on had the windows tinted and also the clear bra. I'm thinking of painting the black trim next. Once you start with the mods it's hard to stop.

I'll post some good pics soon.

Shadow 2.0 - ordered 6/13/08 (Friday the 13th, who is crazy enough to order a car on Friday the 13th?), started production 6/17/08, in my garage 7/21/08

Got tint, cold air intake, and a front end alignment scheduled for tomorrow... Here's to hoping it all goes swimmingly!

I'm sorry to hear that it didn't go as well as you'd hoped. I'm sure they'll make it right. Let us know the progress.

Ok I'm feeling better about the vinyl today. But I have another story.... actually two...

Looks like my Cooper Flags boot badge has been placed in limbo by the USPS. Ed and company at CF are looking into it.

But the big story of the day:

I parked Tradition on the top level of the parking deck in the sun today per the instructions by the installers. Helps it dry and cure. Well fast forward to 5 pm when it was time for me to leave -- a hellacious thunder storm blows up and it just dumps a ton of rain.

I go out to the car... running to keep from getting too wet.... I round the corner of the car and my feet slip and BOOM... I'm layed flat on the concrete in about 4 inches of water. SOAKED from head to toe as if I'd just jumped in a swimming pool.

So I had to crawl into the Mini completely soaked and drive the half hour home. It sucked more than I can describe here. My elbow still hurts.

Yes... it's been the worst 24 hours I've had in recent memory...and I'm not a pessimist... usually happy go lucky.

Wow.... I'm ready to just have some drinks and go to bed.

Oh I didn't mention that I also tried to get my tag today and didn't have the title application -- haven't received it from the dealership yet. I called MA but he was off. Will call dealership tomorrow and ask for the people that process them. They will need to overnight it to me at this point because Alabama has a 20 day grace period and charge after that.

Also -- went around the bush for 2 HOURS with a new State Farm agent trying to add my car to my insurance. Bless her heart -- nice lady, but she hadn't a CLUE what she was doing. She never did resolve it and I'm going to have to call her back in the morning. BTW my insurance grace period ended today.

So an epic bad day for me.... and I usually don't have bad days.

msduncan, after reading about how things have bene going for you I hate to complain about what almost happened to me yesterday but I will anyway....

Yesterday morning I was driving my son to summer camp and there was some kind of accident or somethign so we had to sit in 5 mph traffic for almost an hour, creeping by and watching my moh going down the whole time.

Well, I finally got past whatever the disturbance was and was able to accelerate up to the break-neck speed of 25 mph once I got off the highway.

When we were almost to his camp (already half an hour late for work by this time...) an idiot pulled right out in front of me from a side street and I almost plowed right into him.

I had to stand on the brakes and steer away from the moron and ended up stopping about a foot from his car. He just took off an I introduced my son to a few curse words he hwasn;t familiar with yet.

I don;t know how you could miss a Mellow Yellow Clubman with silver stripes and the running lights on but he managed to do it anyway.

On the plus side, nobody was hurt (not even my car) and the MINI performed admirably in the impromptu evasive driving test.

I was in complete control of the car and the brakes did not lock up at all. The little thing just went where I pointed it and it stopped when it wanted it to.

BTW, ms, I think the roof flag looks fine. It gives the car a little character.

Thanks guys. I'm ok with it now.

Cooper Flags -- in their usual wonderful customer service -- is sending me another Boot Badge holder. If the other one shows, I'll send one back.

I'm now insured, so that is looking up.

I'm now working on my title app so I can get my tag.

I'm interested to know where to get the phone cradles myself. Let me know if you find out.

Sorry to hear about all your troubles msduncan! The world is just a mess sometimes, eh?

Well Siva is to 1400 miles now... I've got to stop driving so much... But I can't HELP it. I think after this weekend I'm taking a break until Mickey and MINI to keep the miles down....

I've not had the BEST experience over the past couple of days. Century MINI tried to fix my steering wheel issue, and they've gotten it probably as close as I can ever expect, though it's still ever so slightly off centered. DDM unfortunately got bought out of all of their race intakes by Moss MINI so I've got to wait for another batch to be produced (approx 1 month wait). I think today I'm going to go ahead and get the intake portion at least, then get the scoop when it comes in.

One good thing is Mach V finally got notice that the necessary part for my LED kit will be arriving in about 2 days, and my kit will ship out the same day. I may just go ahead and order the direct wire cord for my Escort 9500ix so I can do all of my electrical stuff at the same time...

My LED kit should ship within the next few days...

Is there info somewhere on Mickey and Mini? We want to go so bad, but probably won't make it this year. We can plan ahead and make sure we make it next year though....

I had about 500 when I pulled into work this morning. Been a great car to drive, and even the people who laughed when I told them I ordered one have come around. I do find myself absolutely hating stop lights now, whereas they used to not bother me as much.

Glad I'm not the only one racing through the miles. I'm trying to keep it under control, I'll probably hold off on some driving next month so I have a bit of leeway for Mickey and MINI.

BTW, that website is: http://www.mickeyandmini.com/wordpress/
