All Aboard the FIGARO - Southampton 10/01/07 Port Hueneme, CA 10/22/07

Looks like we've got 175 MINIs ready to go!

Booking No. GBSOU562666

Here's a live view of AIS info for Southampton. Once the Figaro has arrived, we might get lucky and catch it on the Southampton webcam!

The Southampton web cam is on the Ocean Dock and WW ships rarely use berths 42 - 47. They use the Eastern Dock berths 30/33 - 36, on occasions they will dock
at berths 40-41 for a period of time. If they do that during daylight hours and weather permits, you can see the ship in the distance using the cam.

Thanks Tharkun!

Do you have any experience with the free AISLive.com accounts? Are they limited to a particular amount of time? I don't want to register now if it's limited to two weeks or something... Not sure if it's dependent on the same info that sailwx.info is or not.

Have not tried the free trial accounts lately, they were limited to a two week trail. When Skeeter was on the trek over I tired a few times to register for the free account, was
never able to get a response. I have only seen two or three NAM members that have had the free trail. It is worth a try to see if they respond, but it seems they have become
either really busy or have picked up on Mini owners trying to get an account.

I just found out that my car is on the Figaro too! It's a MCS laser blue/white, black punch leather, piano black, blue colorline, Premium, Cold, Convenience, LSD, Sport Suspension, iPod, Nav, think that's it... Anyway, I have a question. I see that it pulls into Tacoma, WA on 10/26/07. Since I'm in the Seattle area and ordered the car from Rasmussen Mini in Portland, OR, does that mean that my car will not get off in CA but stay on the boat to Tacoma?

Minis go thru the VDC in Oxnard CA, so your Mini will be discharged at Port Hueneme and once thru the VDC it will enjoy a ride on a Waggoners transport hauler to OR.

Thanks, Tharkun. I wasn't sure if they had a separate VDC up in Tacoma or not. Do you know what the average time is for it to leave the VDC? On the Mini tracking sticky it showed everything from a few days to 3-4 weeks (ack!). I'm assuming unless something is wrong then it would only be a few days.

If nothing breaks, your Mini can leave the VDC in a few days. If you have port installation options, it can take much longer.

Hmmm....dunno if I have port installation options, but since the car is so loaded with a bunch of stuff, I would guess it probably does.

I don't think there are many port options -- maybe driving lights?

Transit times from the VDC to Portland have been averaging 6 - 10 days, but to be safe be prepared for delays they do happen.
Any items that you orderd as "dealer" items can be installed at the VDC, and that can slow your Minis time at the VDC, lately even the Ipod adpater is now being installed at the VDC, where as when I ordered Skeeter had his done at the dealer.

Hey Kathy, we're in the Seattle area too- maybe we'll see you around? (We'll be picking up at NW Mini though...)

Looks like I was loaded today too! (Please stay on the boat! :impatient)

Well, it's sad, but according to AIS, Figaro is currently parked at berth 35, so no webcam view for us. You can see Nordic Spirit though, which appears to be a WW ship from the colors.

UPDATE

Figaro is currently moored at berths 34/35 showing departure time as 8pm (UK time)

This site has some pics and info on the docks that Figaro is moored at.
This site has a good map of the port, using the sattelite view you can zoom in and click on the ballons to fond the Figaro.

Once at the docks both the OL and ASK MINI can be lagged and rather useless.
If you check the WW site and enter this booking number GBSOU562666 you
will be able to see if your Vin number is booked for this voyage.

The one with Vin # TT84422 has an " * " which usually means there is a problem and may not load, the date it arrived at the terminal is 9/11/07. Yours is not showing the " * " as of yet so it "should" board, all you can do is keep checking, they can load vehicles up till shortly before departure from the dock.

The Southampton page just updated with a new departure time of 8:15, so they are running a bit late. They could be loking for your Mini, could have been misplaced in the parking garages at the terminal.

I just asked my MA and he said it usually takes between 10-14 business days to get from the port to the dealership, so that's pretty on the mark with what Tharkun said earlier.

Hi Nick/Becka. I'm actually closer than you think. We really live in Mill Creek but I put Seattle because most people don't have a clue where that is.

Mill Creek ?? Let me think......164th and Bothell Highway use to be two lane roads in the country.........Mill Creek started out as a very "small" housing project, and when I-5 was built everyone wondered why all that money was wasted on a freeway that had no traffic 80% of the time.

Have been out of the Everett area for over ten years, and not sure if Lake Thomas is still in the MC area, or if it has been renamed.
