NAM "Spotter Cards" - Building Membership!

Hello! I was wondering if NAM would sponsor something like "spotter cards." Generally, spotter cards are buissiness cards, but have the website, your username, etc. on it.

I would LOVE to pass these out, and flag them on MINI's when I see them. I work at a MINI dealer, so I see quite a few. I would love to spread the love of NAM, but I need help in doing so. So basically, I was wondering if NAM would donate some cards to me and others, if anyone is interested, so we can post them on other MINI's and try to get more people to join.

I would love them to be donated by NAM itself, but it costs money to print the cards. Maybe we can set up a donation rally or something? Maybe make them $5 for a set of 100 or something?

Thanks for reading! All opinions and thoughts welcomed.
-Cody

Thanks man! I really hope I can get some....but we need a lot of support from NAM in a whole to make it happen.

-Cody Hope to see you soon! Are you going on the charity drive on the 24th?

Good idea, but I am confused as why they are called Pimp Cards.

I looked into doing this on my own a few weeks ago but life got in the way, really all that needs to be done is get a layout and post the image, then members can download it and card other MINIs; the name bafles me guess its a high school thing, the rest of the world has always called them business cards as far as I know.

Can you possible call them something else? I find that word highly offensive.

We had some of those down here for mini2 a few years ago...

they said something like "nice car! I have one just like it..."

Then it had details of the site, and a box where you put your user name in so the person who recieved the card knows who gave it to them...

pretty cool methinks...

Which one, 'pimp' or 'card'?

I took dickdavid's suggestion and retitled the thread.

If people would like to get a real response out of Mark, then I'd suggest dropping the pimp talk, and getting this thread back on track.

agree to get on track. to answer the question, however, if you have ever walked down the strip in vegas, you can collect quite a few of these types of cards, offering various "services".

handing them out seems to be a hot entry level job for new US citizens...

Here's a suggestion. Why not just create the art as a downloadable and printable pdf. That way folks can print and distribute as many as they want and Mark doesn't have to front any hard costs.

I'll bet even their local Kinkos, would print and cut them for a small fee.

Avery makes a business card template and sheets - it's a letter sized sheet that has perf edges – easy to make your own.

Alright guys, I'm back. I went for a drive!

I honestly don't know why they are called "pimp cards" but that is what others on another thread have called them. Anyway, Spotter cards are fine.

I'll have my brother make up some cards and maybe I can print some off. I like the kinkos idea....I hope we can get this rolling. And please, try and stay on topic. I want this thread to be serious. There have been many times where I wish I was carring these cards, so I could "stick" it on a window under a wiper....hoping the person would find it and join.

Anyway, continue the idea's and talking. I'm going to bed now...and will talk to my brother probably Sunday about them.

Ps. Would you rather do like a universal MINI, or just your own designs? Maybe I could print them off at a local kinkos and sell them on here? Any idea's welcomed. Like, maybe just my signature or something. I think that would be cool, and not hard at all since it would be a cut and paste job!

Happy Motoring!

how about the nam logo with some kind of catch phrase followed by a place to put your nam screen name so the people can find you on here i think simplicity is the best solution and if it was in a pdf form then you could just type in your name in the appropriate area and print them out or if you want you could take it to your local print place and have them print you up some on card stock. i will see if i can make an example and i will post it on here later or what else would be cool would be if everyone who was inclined enough to do so make up there own design that way we have a few different choices and we can switch it up a bit

When I was looking into doing it, I was planning on NAM logo (In color so if anyone else wanted to use it they had the choice of color or B&W) and then a checkout _______ (for one to write the local club section on NAM) and then the NAM ID line sounded useful, always help to say Nice MINI on their too.

And I checked with the designer of the logo and had their support for using it to spread the word about NAM, wanted to have a template to refer to before asking Mark.

I got some made at http://www.overnightprints.com/main.php and pass them out.

Not real cheap but good quality.

When you buy a car from Global in Atlanta, they give you a stack from AtlantaMINIs. I've "carded" 5-6 MINIs around here in the last couple of months. I used up all the cards I got so I made a set for myself with ElKabong on them, and the link to the AtlantaMINIs forum and to NAM with my screen name. I could also get another stack of the original cards, but I wasn't going to be anywhere near Global (HOPEFULLY!!) which is why I made my own.

Anything new? I like the one's David made, but it seems to have a little bit too much text. I would like to do the NAM logo, and maybe a picture of a MINI.

Anyone know the dimensions of a buisness card?
