Little late, but here is my 2019 Solo Nationals experience

So my 2007 SMF classed Mini Cooper S is pretty biult for the class. Except weight(2300lbs) and probably a little low on power(244WHP). This year was mostly focused on Tours and placed in the top 3 in the 4 I did. 3rd out of 12 in a ProSolo, 2nd out of 8 in a Tour, 1st out of 5 at a Match Tour and a 3rd at a Champ Tour in SM class because I had a chance of winning tires, and was leading on day one.

So this brings us to Nats. Up against 12 drivers from all around the nation. All Hondas except my Mini. Craig Wilcox ended up driving a Civic that was well prepared for the class and also a outstanding driver. Chris Hyadu that is local to me also a national champ driver. Day one we started last to run and I ended up in 5th on my 2nd run. my 3rd run I got lost and totally forgot to turn. Up to that point I had improved .400 from my last run. So who knows what the rest of the run would have brought. Day 2 I had a feeling that it was my day and it was better. My first run I was 2nd fastest. 2nd run I improved and held 2nd fastest. 3rd run and coned it away and ended up 3 fastest driver in class for the day. 2nd fastest car in class. But it wasn't good enough to bring me out of 5th for the 2 days.

Not bad for ending my 3 year in SMF. Very happy and will be returning next year.

with my Mini to take on these Hondas again.

Craig Wilcox is an alien. I wish he drove his mini so we could really see how poorly it is classed in STU... No minis at except yours and a justa in HS this year.

Congrats! Lincoln is indeed a whole extra ballgame. Just barely out of the trophies in one hand sucks, but in a car nobody gives a chance to is amazing. Well done. Plus, Wilcox is a Mini guy so hard to be mad about that. The Ex-Tipple car he ran is an amazing build on top of his talent.

I couldn't put a single run together out there this year. Ah well.

This was his 5th Championship I think and he is doing FP next year he said. So at least I don’t have to worry about him. Lol

You got me started in this mess. Lol if I didn’t do that Pittsburgh Match tour I probably wouldn’t be so into this Mini.... No, it’s been fun. Wish I would have started sooner. I was bummed I didn’t get a trophy but next year I’ll be even more prepared. Mini as well. 2020 prep has already started. Down 50lbs already😂 the Mini, not me🤦*♂️

I do think Mini in DSP would be pretty good. The 225/45r17 would fit and that’s 9” of tread and 62mph in 2nd. Run water injection. You should do it!!
