So Cal 2008 New Years run

The annual TRE Motorsports New Years hangover run went off without a hitch on Jan 1 as per usual. There was a entirely new route this year due to the report of higher authoritative observation in our usual haunt. The great thing about So Cal is that they were able to easily put together an entirely different 120 mile run which was just as varied and exciting as our normal route. As usual this group of approximately 130 cars was made up of some of the finest automotive iron available and very capable drivers. As far as I know there was not one ticket issued and no other incidents to report which unfortunately I can not say about the Mini run I went on two days prior. A poor classic mini managed a triple summersault into the trees but the driver was marginally injured. I forgot my camera so no photos of that event. In any event here are some of the highlights.

Drivers meeting

So we had some cars here .

And some here

And a few more here

Many of the cars are actually track toys which they drag out once a year for this event.

Love this plate.

This was a good one too.

And some cars were not so old .

More in a bit

Here are a few more of the unusual cars .
One of the TRE projects

Smart car . This model is unfortunatly discontinued.

The shop owners set up 914-6

And yet another 914-6 . This one of the six figure variety

Two in a row a rare site.

The real deal 959 .

Even one of these

They come from far and wide for this one

Dani's dads very cool Renault Sport.

Even this made the run.

More to come .

There was some American iron as well.

But as it was a PCA/ TRE run, mostly Germans

And we weren't totally un noticed These guys were cool just wanted to see the cars.

Overall a good run and already planning on next years.

Those are some nice cars, I went on a 7 car run through Malibu that day. There was plenty of classic eye candy there too. Tonight I should have the pics up. I was the only MINI in my group, but I did see a few others in the hills throughout the day.

The Mini's are never that well represented on this run and I really do not know why as we have no problem hanging with them. I have been doing it every year since 02 and there have never been more than 3 or 4 at most. This year there were two Next year same time same place , TRE Motorsports .
