pbraun: outstanding photography
. by far the best i've seen from a MINI enthusiast at a KONI event.
randy (and all of the drivers/crews): i think that we need a good exorcism before the next event. i'm sure that i can find a suitable exorcist in so. florida. congrats on the pole. keep the faith. we all know that your hard work will pay off.

Accident video from GP3R

This is the in car video from Trois Rivieres. The 197 car was spun by the orange BMW . . . and then hit hard by another BMW at the end of lap 1, retiring it from the race.
You will hear the slower than normal shifts. We were having transmission synchro problems and couldn't speed shift. You will see the Orange BMW move up the inside at turn one. He tagged me on the rear corner spinning me. The Turner BMW (yellow) was innocent . . . he had no place to go.
Enjoy . . . I didn't!!

I now see why Grand Am did not penalize him for hitting me. It was not clear from that angle. You can see the rear fender damage as the car turns though . . .
Thanks for posting.
Randy
Based on the French stuff at the bottom, I'd say so. But it's actually on Grand Am's site!
MINI wins at GP3R ! ... sort of.

A Mini is guaranteed to win
It's worth a few minutes of your time.

Miller Motorsports Park Sept 18
Opening a thread for the Koni Race at Miller MP, Salt Lake City, Utah
This will be our 1st trip West this year. Owen Trinkler won the pole last year in the 196. The car was knocked out of contention late in the race when a back marker GS car ran BJ Zacharias off track, eventually ending up 12th.
This will be the 1st race with the improved engine package recently approved by GA in all the cars. Miller is at 4200 ft so the boosted cars will have a slight advantage. Grand Am has put boost limits on the Turbo cars for this race at 87%. We have no restriction but, pulley driven Supercharged cars are negatively affected by altitude like normally aspirated ones.
Owen and BJ were on the pole last year. Adam and Trevor finished 6th in an Acura. We have track experience and should have competitive cars.
Lady Luck . . . stay close. She has been absent so far this year!!
This race will be televised on Oct 3rd on speed. It is a combined race with the GS class.
Line up:
196 Owen Trinkler and Jade Buford
197 Randy Smalley and Joe Toussaint
198 Adam Burrows and Trevor Hopwood

how much fun would that be!? i hope that when you switch to the R56, that three MINI enthusiasts will jump on the chance to get a well sorted track car at a lot le$$ than building from scratch. more MINI's on the track is a good thing.
Hotel
See you soon!
