Looks like we'll be making another mid-monther next week, Tue the 18th. Sounds like Sonic again, but not sure on if we'll do a small drive before or after our meal. I'll keep people posted here.

If he was hanging out with a hot red head, that was my wife. She definitely frequents Target, and I don't know of my son hanging out with any other women, so that probably was her.

 

I'm interested in joining you guys for this sonic drive. What town will this be in? (I live in St. George) But I've been wanting to go up north for a day to visit some people anyway, so... where exactly and when and I'll see if I can get the day off. I'm so tired of work.
(btw, if I'm pushing in on a club that I'm not allowed to be a part of, just let me know and I'll back off, thanks.)

 

With a name like MiniUtah as a club, we'd be pretty lame if we didn't want people to hang with us, just because your a couple hours away. So of course it's cool that you come hang, in fact we've been hoping to get more from Southern Utah involved. I'd actually like to do a run or two a year as a Nor Utah and So Utah meet, and of course the Sin City boys are welcome to come along as well. Looks like this year it'll be a Moab trip.

As for our Mid-Monther, we'll be meeting somewhere in the Salt Lake Valley this Tuesday. Most likey the Fort Union area Sonic drive-in. I'll try to get more info for ya and post it here.

 

Count my wife and I in for this one. It will be her first (other than sitting thru the Wendover school) and we are looking forward to it.

 

So it looks like the miniutah.com site is going screwy again. I tried to post this about 4 times with no luck.

My wife and I are still planning on being there, just awaiting a location. Since Matt suggested we meet at the Fort Union Sonic, I vote for that. As for a drive, why don't we just run up a canyon and back? Maybe Big Cottonwood?

 

That location and drive sounds good to me. What time are we thinking about meeting? I'm coming from Layton and need to run to West Jordan to pick up the bride.

 

Time is always the worst to judge. I'd love to do a Big Cottonwood trip real fast. I say 6:30-7:00 we meet at the same place as the last mid-monther. Loco-Lizard right off I-215.

Wish I knew what was going on with miniutah.com. Can't seem to get any replies. But I am game for the drive and eats. 6:30 works for me.

 

Yeah, let's say 6:30 start meeting, then we leave promptly at 7.

MiniUtah.com will be a problem if we can't get it back up, as a lot of Utah'ns don't use NAM as much as some of us.

 

I was just able to post again on miniutah.com with a link to this thread, hopefully all will get the info now. If not, maybe we should start calling people.

 

I have put in for the domain transfer. Just waiting on a respones. But we may have to rebuild from the ground up.

I think Nate just wanted to get a treat at Sonic last week and meet up with some of the mates, probably didn't realize he was volunteering himself to run the MID-MONTHER!

SO, I guess we are meeting at the Lizard at 6:30 pm heading up one of the canyons and back to Sonic located at about 800 East and Fort Union Blvd.

Is that about the gest of it?

I sure hope I haven't overstepped my bounds, but it looked liked people were looking forward to a run somewhere, so we planned it out. I'm probably more responsible for it. Anyway, there's the plan. Hope all can come out and I wouldn't mind at all leading this mid-monther tomorrow

 

I would think quite a few, and probably 20-30+ active.

 

I was planning on going up Big Cottonwood last saturday and wasn't able to... So I'm super excited for this mid-monther!! WOO HOO!!!

The miniutah site has some 174 members. 50 are active and 20-30 real active! Karen sends out an (email) mailing each month and her data base is probably closer to 500. There are a couple of big drives each summer, one of them will be at the end of this month to the Alpine Loop! These bigger events draw near 30 MINI/Mini's and I expect closer to 40 this year. If you were coming up from St. George, this is one of the events to attend. These events are a blast, check out the photo galleries!

The club is really informal, no membership dues, no officers, just friends that meet for a drive. Good people that would give the shirt off their back for ya. Many of the "active" people in the group are on the site, but there is a SOLID 6-10 more people that come to most ALL events that don't post or have much to do with the site.

At some point we may become a real (formal) club with dues, more events, officers etc, etc. Right now it's Karen and dozen key people that keep it going and it goes very well. Karen is a sales person at MINI of Murray and usually brings some fun MINI items to be raffled off at the month end rallies. We also go as a group to Las Vegas and of course pass through your neck of the woods.

Within the group is another division of classes. I would say the biggest class is those that participate on the web and come out to the mid monther's. Then there is the group that has MODS on their cars and getting ever more popular is the Racing Class.... like MattMan and Lex that put there cars on the track, this group appears to be growing and the newly built "world class" track built by Larry Miller in our back yard doesn't hurt.

Please post away, we hope to see ya on miniutah-dot-com and at the bigger events if you can make it! Most events are a 6-8 hour commitment on Sundays.
