No kidding about the roll cage. Our little guys are tough. I bet the driver was one sore customer the next day. But lucky to stagger away.

The series is I believe the German MINI Cooper Challenge.
These are race cars. Full roll cage and all safety equipment.

Wow!!! The car looks like a toy flying through the air. Good to see he's ok and standing by the rail outside of the car after all that.

Amazing Video.
Glad the driver appeared ok. Wonder how a street prepared, (underprepared for racing), Mini would look under identical crash conditions. ugh.

The driver would most likely be dead
And if you look closely at the driver, he is wearing a Hans device....

No doubt the driver would be very dead w/o all the safety measures. That roll cage really did the trick.
Looked like he had a little help w/ the crash.

.... according to some here on NAM, that driver would have been fine if there was no safety equipment at all.

Mini's banned by PCA?
The door comes open -- that cannot be prevented with a rollcage.
Other than welding the doors shut, what can be done?

I'll let you know when we get to that point
, as it's what we have in mind being I'm building my own doors. Mounting is the same, basically.
