Race gas...leaded?

It seems all the retail pumps with 110 octane race gas are leaded...is there such a thing as unleaded race gas and where do you get them?

Your local track may have some, but not necessarily 110. The track near me sells 104 unleaded ($7/gal).

Sunoco 100 octane unleaded. About $6.50/gal. You can get it at either distributors or tracks (like Watkins Glen or kart tracks). There is also VP and a few others but none are easy to get.

Someone posted a link several months ago (digging and not finding) I think the highest the MINI is "supposed" to run is 98 which is available at most tracks, obviously the TC crowd and a few others have gone higher with success though. As far as sources the track or Race Day gas (or something like that; SE US gas stations) occasionally have the high octane in the back, you have to go in and request for them to turn the pump on though cause they get so little use.

On my way back from the Dragon we stopped at a Sunoco that had the unleaded race gas, it is big bucks though.

That's why it's so cheap, because it's leaded.

C16 is leaded and not oxeygenated. 6 grams/gallon 117 Octane. C16 is NHRA Comp Eliminator spec fuel. It's between $14-15/gallon.

Correct: C16 is Leaded

There are only a few 100 to 104 octane unleaded fuels out there. Sunoco GT100 aka CAM2 [there's also Sunoco GT104], Rockett Brand, and VP. Rockett Brand is making quite a splash trying to get their fuel to the pumps, I just with they'd get to Michigan sooner!

I just purchased Sunoco GT100 today for $4.859/gallon, not sure where dmh got his figure from. There's only one pump in all of metro Detroit that sells it. Well two, but one is broken right now, grrr.

Where Ryan?

Funny how as the regular gas goes up in price, the race fuel hasn't...or is just me?

$4.86 is a STEEL. dhm is right, it's more like close to $7 at most all race tracks. It was well over $6 last season.

Sunoco 100 unleaded $6.50 a gallon at Watkins Glen. I heard it was $4something a gallon at Road America.
