Las Vegas NAMCC Laptimes?
Las Vegas NAMCC Laptimes?
Hey does anyone here have your own or other drivers laptimes from last weekends race or qualifying?
I just checked my camera, and I was getting consistent 1m05secs on good laps. Definitely saw room for improving though, especially for the turns after the long sweeper.
Just want to see how they compare with the racers.

I was the yellow 99, and did not make the race - electrical issues.
My data from qualifying (traqmate) shows a 1:02:00. I ran 3 laps in the low 1:02's and then the remaining laps in the 1:03 to 1:05 range. I used qualifying to see if I could make a set of tires last 18 laps, and to check fuel consumption for the race.
My onboard laptimer showed a 1:00:78 from the third practice session when I was attempting to stay close to the Mini-Madness car. I did blister two tires that session
hence the more sedate qualifying.
Other data showed a top speed of 95 mph before braking for turn 1, high 70's before braking for the final turn leading to the main straight. Sustained high 40's around the oval track section. Sustained g's in the 0.9 range, spikes in the 1.2 range.
Great fun, I am looking forward to the June races in St Louis. Look for the car to lose some weight by then.

I've had the lap timer for a few years. Works well usually, but in LV I noticed I had chosen a bad spot for the transmitter. The braking zone near the end of the main straight was easy to set up in, but if there was a faster car on my inside then the timer could not pick up the signal.
The data aquisition is new this year. check out traqmate.com or the recent issue of Sportscar ( an article comparing the various DA systems).
I am just learning how to use it properly but can see it is a very useful tool. You can compare two laps by the same driver, or two drivers or multiple drivers. Had some issues on the first session, I forgot to set the start finsih line, but after that I was impressed. It will also show you a track map and you can compare different lines to see where an advantage can be had.
My crew was hand timing Randy and he seemed to be mid 58's.
