Factory ABS vs aftermarket pedal set and bias controle

I have to say that I really like the Mini ABS system, but now some are telling me that it should go in favor of an aftermarket pedal set and brake bias control for better performance on the track.
Thoughts?

I would keep the factory ABS in place, it has performed well on ALL the tracks I have been on ...

It has never let me down and I now trust it

how much is it kicking in when you are racing? and when it kicks in, it it for a long time or just a second. every corner or just some? do you feel it is slowing you down? if you think you can do better then give it a try, but there will be a lot of thigs to redo once you take take it off.

Rarely and even then, controlled, brief

Greg,

I have been looking at the same issues by talking to the local BMW oriented track rats and after years of reading reviews and tests on "tuner" cars in the magazines. The BMW people all seem to keep the stock system, because of they don't perceive any benefit given the costs and fabrication challenges. Does this apply to the MINI? I don't know.

The MINI platform certainly hasn't been adequately developed for race purposes although development for track purposes is much further along. Changing the brake pedal / ABS system is probably low on the priority list.
