Mini JCW GP3 @Buttonwillow #13 CCW
Mini JCW GP3 @Buttonwillow #13 CCW
Took my 2021 Mini JCW GP3 to Buttonwillow for the first time over the weekend. It was a cross-hosted event between NASA AZ and NASA SoCal running #13 CCW. I did get some online coaching from TrackRekord, which was good because the event didn’t have any instructors available to help instruct for that first session
The information I got from TrackRekord was good enough that after the first session I felt I didn’t need an in-car instructor for the rest of the weekend (although, if I go there again, I will probably get one).
I managed a best time of 2:11.5xx in my first session of the second day, but my Solo 2 DL ran out of storage so none of it was recorded, HA! This is your friendly reminder to delete unneeded data from your device
My 2nd best lap, lap 3, starts at 7:07 in the video with a 2:11.6 time. I’m 99% convinced lap 4 would have been even faster by a second or so based on the red arrow icon in the track map. The green arrow is the current lap, the red arrow is my best lap. But, traffic in HPDE is what it is. There was probably another second or so to gain just by driving harder, but I had to drive my car 8 hours home still. And my alignment was off a bit
Anyway, managed to do a couple of my first ever passes in corners (they still wig me out a bit) and had a great time!!
