I was curious if anyone here was considering making it to this one? It is also a fundraiser for the Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation. We are not sure yet but might give it a try.

Tim, your new nickname shall be "Tim the Tempter".
This sounds like a great event, so what's a true guesstimate of the drive time to Nashville?

We'll be there. I hope to bring all three Minis and take the classic around some at lunch time. This is a very nice facility. We use the road course in the infield with a bit of the back straight, then transition to the banking on the front straight of the big oval. To finish off the day of fun on the track there will be a concert.

I don't know where David will be in the transition to his new MINI. He may still have the red JCW or he may be at break in with "Astro".

I'll be there. Also you can go even if you don't register for the driving school. There will be other activities, Minis and other cars and a concert at the end of the day. Should be fun.

Are you sure it's not a Chili's?

lots of questions...

hi... this sounds like an interesting event, but i have a few questions:

1) my mini probably won't arrive until very end of Oct. I'd like to go to this, but won't be past my break-in period. do they have school cars that I can drive?

2) they emphasize on the website that this is a driving school and not a race school. i'm definitely looking more for driving saftey tips (better ways of shifting, stopping, control, etc.) than just racing around the track. i've never done any track before, so i'd definitely be a beginner.

3) does anyone know the cost?

thanks for the help!

Congrats on your new car.

The Safe Driving Academy is being offered at this event also. As you will likely still be working on break in miles, you might consider it instead of the on-track driving sessions. You would be practicing braking, slalom and skid pan excercises. You can also drive on track in the controlled lunch time laps and get a feel for that. The pricing is on the Minnie Pearl Foundation website http://www.minniepearl.org/home.html and registration goes through their organization.
