Track Pads for R56
Track Pads for R56
Hello All,
I've got a 2007 R56 Cooper S and am having a tough time finding a durable track pad for the upcoming season. I'm a late/hard braker on R compound tires on a "tough on brakes" track.
Last year; new stock pads lasted 1 day, Carbotech XP10's 1.5 days to the backing plates. I've had great success with Performance Friction on a previous car and would jump on some PFC 97's or 01's in a flash, but they have no intention of supplying pads for this car.
I see the current available choices as Hawk Blue, EBC Yellow, and maybe Ferodo 3000. Any reviews of the above? Any alternate suggestions? If I can't find a good durable track pad I'll have to stick with the stockers and change them out frequently. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Tim

I've used Mintex 1155s and switched to the EBC Yellows. The EBC is just as good at about half the price. I get two to three weekends out of the fronts and three to four weekends out of the rears.

Thanks Alan, just what I was hoping to hear because the EBC's are relatively cheap. Do you run them full time or just on the track?
