Since several people were averse to calling the West Coast event(s) "Dragon West," I thought I'd start a thread for folks to post Event Name Suggestions!
I kinda like Salmon Run, but realize we need to work it into a groovy MINI-related acronym. So post all y'all's suggestions in this thread!

I read that a couple were coming from Michigan, and maybe one for Alaska, but who else?
Post here if your going

Hey, xsmini,
I am the "Couple from Michigan". My wife and I will be there for sure. I'm interested in seeing who else will be there too. Any idea how many have registered so far.
Are you familiar with the area? Trying to decide where to spend Thursday night, Redding or Red Bluff.
We will be leaving MI on July 12, and taking the long route, Albuquerque, Taos, Denver, The Arches, Grand Canyon, Death Valley, Mt. Whitley, and then MORE. The return trip will probably go up the coast to Seattle, and home through Glacier NP, Mt Rushmore, and the Badlands. Have not decide wheather we will take the southern route through Chicago or go across the UP and Makinaw back to Monroe MI. Estimating 6K+ in 3 weeks. Should be a hoot.

Jonnieoh - check this out it explains better than I can https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=43973 and https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=44101
Wrecker - ie "couple from Michigan" I have no idea how many have signed up yet. But I believe Jeff was/ is working on getting that info on the wcc site.
As for where to stay Thursday, I'm still trying to decide too. I don't know that part of California at all. I'm kinda leaning towards Redding just because its alittle larger.
So whats your route once you get to Mt whitney (lone pine)? I work lone pine and live in Bishop, (about 55 miles north). I'll be leaving Thursday for Redding/ Red Bluff. I was planning on going straight up 395 to Susanville, then directly over to Redding. If you have the extra day it would be worth going thru Yosemite. If you are in the area it would be fun to get together.

xsmini,
The great thing about this trip is we really have no plans, the only place we have to be is in Redding/Red Bluff on Thursday. Other than that we are just playing it by ear.
I would like to meet up with you on Wed evening or Thursday morning and motor up to Redding together, are there others from your club that will be going at the same time? We could do it as a caravan if that is possible.
We are going to make reservations in Redding for Thursday and Eureka for Fri and Sat. These are the only reservations we are making for the 3week + trip. First time we have ever done one like this. I have been shooting competition 3D archery on a national level for the past 7 or 8 years and all of our vacations have centered around the national level meets on the east side of the US. We had so much fun on the dragon that when I got home I called and cancelled all of my shoots for the remainder of the year, including two world championships, one in Snowshoe WVa and one in Columbus Ga. and said lets go west. I really hadn't planned on this far west, we were talkin Denver and maybe the Grand Canyon, but then I saw the MORE thing and you know the rest.
Let me know what you think about motoring up to Redding together or as a group.
Thanks for the invite.

I'm Going
Hey I'm going, and we will be leaving from Redding, so it might be best if you found a Motel there and you're right it is bigger than Red Bluff, I'm not staying in Redding because I only live 90 miles north of Redding, so I am just going to drive down in the morning. Glad to see a thread where we can find out who is going. My son Trey will be coming with me.

Rick,
It would be great to hook up for the drive to Redding. There are only about 5 other Minis in the county where I live, so we probably wont be joined by too many other coopers. I haven't been able to organize a club here, but I do talk to all of them every now and them, and will be letting them know about MORE.
Sandie - Thanks for the info. I haven't been to redding since I was a kid, and honestly dont remember much. I already have the reservations in Eureka, and will probably make the ones in redding by the end of the week. (are you the one that got a ticket on the way home from AMVIV
)

xsmini,
I'm just hoping that Redding and Eureka are still there when the time comes. All these earthquakes you guys are having are starting to make me think twice. I know you guys are use to the shakes & stuff, but we are not. And with my luck, .....

Hey I've been checking into some fishing trips in Eureka, I did find someone with those dates open. It would be a day on a jet boat, $200.00 per person half is required now to hold that date. Anyone interested? Please hurry the spots are filling fast.

I agree, I plan on attending, and I will be driving from Michigan. Even if the event is canceled, I will probably show up anyway, but at least I won't be on a limited schedule. We plan on a 3 week vacation, 2 weeks to get there via Denver, Moab, Grand Canyon, Vegas, Death valley, etc... Do the MORE thing, then 1 week to get home via, Glacier, Tetons, Badlands etc.
I would like to see what's going on.

It's on alright although response has been light to say the least. I'm sure that the proximitity to MINI Meet West's dates has something to do with it.
As of this morning I have 16 people registered. I've asked several times for people to send me their NAM screennames ('cause I won't post real names) but have had few responses. I know that I'll be there and if it's small it's small.
MINI Mania has offered to sponsor with prizes as well as our other prize donations. I'd hate to have to win all the raffles myself but if need be I will.
The cut-off date for registrations is 7/26 so I'll wait until then for a real determination.
