2013 R60 CMS Transfer Case Recommendation?

Hi all,

Today, I unfortunately destroyed my transfer case again. I considered myself driving normally and no hard accelerating or braking whatsoever, but I drive quite a bit in terms of distance. This new one was bought off ebay around $700. I wouldn't think I would spend ~$4300 on an OEM one since it would break anyway. This chinese part lasted around 13,000 miles, and I should be happy about it but I would not since it took me a while to swap the part... For any of you that changed your transfer case, do you have any recommendation for me to sort another transfer case? Any input helps!

For the context, the part # of this transfer case would be: 27109811688.

I’m curious how it’s failing? Bearings going out? Busted gear? I’d be tempted to buy a low mileage used unit and have it rebuilt (bearings and seals) by a trusted shop.

I'd say busted gear. Before I got home yesterday, the noise from the transfer case area sounds like blender mixing stuff. From what I remembered, buying the transfer case can be tricky since it is not as common as the other parts (e.g., cv axle). Anywhere would you recommend for me to look up?

Here is one:

This one has over 100k miles on it, but if the gears are solid, I would think it could be a decent candidate for a rebuild. Maybe find a transmission / off-road shop local, and have a conversation with them about rebuilds?
