Question 2013 R60 Newbie help?

Hey all, got an R60 all4 S last year and been loving it. I've had a mini before but this is my first countryman.

She's had some rough spots, she's got roughly over 120k miles, and I've been taking care of issues as they come up (thankfully not many) but im just wondering if there is anything all of you can recommend to proactively extend the life of my R60. I really dont want to have to go and replace the engine while I'm still paying her off because it exploded due to something simple but obscure i could have done.

I know the basics like oil change regularly etc, but are there any suggested mods / services I should do to prolong the health of my R60?

Thanks in advance

Although the R60’s don’t have same early timing chain failure issues as the earlier mini models it is still a wear part. The slides and chains do need to be replaced when the mileage gets high, and this is true of almost all engines. At 120k you are hitting the timing chain zone. It could last allot longer just depends on oil changes and allot of other factors.

Thank you I’ll be sure to look at them and make sure they are in ok shape. I saw online that some people recommend doing a walnut blast on the engine is this something that I should consider doing at this point?

I bought my 2013 Countryman S brand new and I’m 500 miles shy of 120K. I get oil changes regularly (every 4-5,000 miles) along with other scheduled maintenance, and I’ve had no major issues. However, if you don’t already know, the ignition coils fail frequently. The first time one failed and sent my car into limp mode it was LESS than a year old!! It literally happens every 3-6 months no matter what brand coils I put in. I’ve actually started carrying a spare in my car and had to replace one just a few days ago after it failed on the freeway. There is an extended warranty from Mini till 120k miles but from what their letter says they just replace them one at a time as they fail. They won’t just put four new ones in, which pisses me off! Otherwise I love my car and hope to pick up some tips here for anything else I should be doing to keep in running for many years to come.

Weird. I'm running original coils on my 2013 Countryman JCW and it just hit 204 000kms.
