R60 shaking problems
R60 shaking problems
My 16 countryman S all4 is having a shaking issue when I accelerate. When I let off the gas it quits. I don't feel it in the steering wheel, feels like it is coming from the rear. I tried to shake the drive shafts but didn't get any movement. I thought maybe a cv joint but you think there would be some kind of play in the drive shafts. Any help would be appreciated

Can you affect the shaking behavior by applying the brakes?
From behind my keyboard all I can offer is check all wheel lugs that they are present and correctly torqued.
Check tires for any signs of sidewall/tread damage.
Check tires are all properly inflated. Do not under or over inflate. (With one car a few PSI over the the recommended front tire pressure had the car manifesting a mild vibration.)
Check wheels for signs of any recently lost weights.
Ideally you should have the car safely lifted so the car is supported by its under body lift points not by the wheels/tires.
Check each wheel for any excessive free play. Check all axle shafts for any CV bearing play. Check the dust boots. If any are torn/split the CV is suspect even if it doesn't have any play. The axle will have to be removed, the bearing cleaned and checked for damage/wear and replaced or the bearing repacked and a new dust boot fitted. This is not likely something you can do but if you see this problem you need to get the car in to a suitable shop.
Last thing done to car was inner tie rod. That shaking I could feel in the steering wheel. When I apply breaks there is no shaking. I have checked some of the things that you mentioned but nothing suspicious yet
