FRM3 Issues
FRM3 Issues
Hello,
New to the forum, I want to thank anyone in advance for your help!. I have a 2012 Countryman S all4. I disconnected the battery to charge it, unknowinlgy of the potential damage to the footwell module as I had bought the car used two days before and noticed it was slugish to start up. Well I found out quickly that damaging the FRM3 mdoule was a common problem. Long story short I got the FRM3 module reprogrammed from a local guy and put it back in the countryman but I still dont have power windows and lights. Took it back to him, he said it was registering as fine in his system. He told me it was probably a power issue to the FRM3, he had me check the fuses and to make sure that there was power going to the module. I checked all the fuses and checked the pins on the wiring harness with a multimeter and everything seems fine. Now assuming that the gentleman that repaired the module is telling the truth, he has good reviews on ebay I don't see why he would lie, what else could be the issue? Could there have been some sort of short circuit when i disconnected/reconnected the battery that isn't allowing the module to function? I think Ive watched every video on youtube regarding this issue and none of them mention what else could be the problem. When I started the car after the battery charge I got a check engine light with code P0172 which comes up as running lean on bank 1. I know they are not likely related but thought I'd mention it just in case there may be some electrical problem affecting the fuel disribution as well. I apologize in advance if I made any rookie mistakes in posting, I appreciate any help or advice that is given.
