I think my R61 S, fuel pump just gave out.

Can anyone shed some light on this problem? So my Paceman has been sitting in the driveway cause I think my fuel pump gave out. Don't think the relay would of gone bad, but I was told that there's no way of finding out, I would just need to replace it and see if that's the problem. Can't get myself to spend $30 for possibly it not being the problem.
I know it's not getting any fuel, I sprayed some starter fluid in the intake and it gargled to start, but just turned off.
Battery is still turning the engine so that works.
I would really like to know if someone/anyone knows where the fuel pump is to replace it. Cant find any info online of the location of fuel pump. I removed the rear seat behind driver and nothing. I figured it was like the R60, but figured wrong.
any info right now would greatly be appreciated, very frustrated with my Mini right now. Oh its out of warranty also.

It's an in-tank pump:

Are you sure it's not the high pressure fuel pump instead?

dmath,
Thanks for the response. I know what the fuel pump looks like, what I meant was were is it located in the car so I may fix it. Like I mentioned not under the back seat behind driver side.
Any info would be great.
And not sure if it is high pressure fuel pump.

Not sure about the Paceman but I think access to the fuel tank is under the right rear seat.

The high pressure fuel pump is attached to the engine on the left side toward the rear.

Thank you again,
And yes I found it under the rear seat behind the passenger. That makes no sense, since the fuel is put in on the driver side. Also just learned that there is no power going to the fuel pump. So going to replace the relay and hope that it solves the problem.
Thanks!
