28BD Throttle valve, closing spring check: Malfunction

Hello folks,

Just curious if anyone has experienced this issue? I just figured I'd get peoples 2 cents before buying a new throttle body. Thanks!

Update:

Problem only got worse. A MIL code finally came on and the throttle is hesitating during acceleration. I ordered a new throttle body and gasket from RockAuto. I will keep you folks posted as to how it goes.

Yes it did fix it. Air box had to come out. Pain to reach. Hand tight on the three mounting screws works just fine. There is a toque spec but after following it I realized as long as it’s hand tight and you don’t break the plastic you’ll be good. I don’t rember the spec. The one I ordered from rock auto is the same one as you get from Mini. Just different vendor and a third of the cost. You’ll need a torx set. Good luck

Just came across this post, these are the other codes it might throw 2B32, 2B31, 2B1E, 2B2B, 2B22

Also recalibrate to make sure it has not failed. We have VDO and some other options.
