mini cooper

hello....i have a 2014 mini cooper clubman. i shut the engine off and the fan remains on...for a long time. I also tried to start the engine again....and it was hard to start and black smoke from the exhaust pipe. Help!

Is there coolant in the car? CEL on?

Constant running fans are usually a result of a failed coolant temp sensor or high pressure AC switch (which is far less likely than a failed thermostat).
