Too many malfunctions! Hi, I'm new here ....and not a mechanic. Hoping one of my fellow miniacs can shed some light on my problem. A few days ago I started up my car and receive the following notifications : ABS / X DRIVE malfunction, passenger restraint malfunction, passenger airbag malfunction, right and left front parking lamp malfunction, ..... I'm not a mechanic, and recently moved to a town that does not have a mini dealer. However there is a great little shop here that specializes in mini coopers... I brought it there and they told me it was a right rear wheel speed sensor, they installed a new one, but the codes and messages remained As I write this I am sitting in my car, I just restarted it and to my amazement most of the malfunction warnings have disappeared.... With the exception of the left and right front parking lamp malfunction warning. Several months ago I replaced the parking lamp bulbs with LEDs, could they be playing a role in this Mystery?

 

Yes the LEDs are the cause of the lamp out error. Most of the time you have to have the bulb check coded out to get rid of the errors.

 

A battery that's getting ready to fail will cause problems like that. Have it checked.
