Trans replaced at 8k miles

Had my automatic transmission replaced on my All4 at 8k miles due to rough downshifts, they found metal bits suspended in the transmission fluid. Now I am noticing increased vibration when the A/C is on and when shifting from drive to manual mode it seems stiffer and there is extra play when shifting in to drive. So two questions, is the mini drive by wire? or would the actual shifting feel different because of the new transmission and would they have had to move or disconnect anything that would explain the increased vibration when the A/C fan is running?

keep an eye on the water pump, seems they still havent worked out the early failure issue, you'll get some vibration and a sure sign is a chirp or squeak upon shut down. Heard them going as soon as 4k. Mine went at 20k.

Dont take their word for it if something is wrong. Sometimes those technicians can be like the apple store geniuses, not really classically trained, just trained to follow an order of operations without any iteration. I've had mine come back tighter, the third or fourth time they cracked into the engine compartment.
