Is it me or something else
I have a 2012 CM non S without comfort access and am having a couple of spooky issues. The first one has the dealer baffled and the second happened yesterday.
1. I have the HK Radio upgrade and every once in awhile, I lose my radio settings. Satellite radio defaults to channel 1 and I can't change it unless I stop the car and then switch fobs and then put the first fob back in and then it's ok. I understand that other people are experiencing this as well. If you haven't done so already, you need to let your service advisor know.
2. Yesterday, I went out parked the CM with the windows up and locked. Came out three hours later and all four windows were partially down and all doors were unlocked.
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Congratulations on the new CM!
#1 - I have no idea.
#2 - Do you keep your keys on your back pocket?
Is there any chance that you sat on them?
Maybe you activated the remote and unlocked the doors, rolled down the windows?
PS -Love the name "Brown Betty." It reminds me of my British aunt's little teapot. It made the best tea and we had such cozy chats at her kitchen table over a cuppa!

I have heard on here before that #1 has happened before, but I don't recall the reason or the fix.
#2, how close to the car were you? You could have accidentally held the unlock button and began to roll the windows down.

Try it out.
Just hold the unlock button down and keep holding it down until something happens.
Littlewing,
Thanks for your input. I tried it (new to me) and it worked. Now to get the radio resolved. We were at a MINI run on Sunday and someone else with a CM had the same issue. Interesting to find out why.

Happens in my car... The reason is because each fob stores information regarding personal preference... Therefore if you program your stations and settings on only one fob then the other one will be blank, so if you program them the same then you'll be set

Also, to roll up the windows and close the sunroof just insert the physical key into the driver door slot and twist to the right and hold it there until the windows roll up. They wont go up by holding lock unless you've coded your car.

Thanks for the input on the windows and door. But I disagree on the radio settings. I only use one key fog. and for it to lose its settings and not allow you to change anything on the radio by locking it up (similar to a pc crash) is totally strange. To get the settings back, I have to cut the car off put my wife's key fob in start her up and then cut the engine and swap keys and then my settings return. So this is not the case of one fob not having the same settings.

Had something similar happen to my radio the other day. I've got an MC, not a CM, with the HK radio. I was driving along just the other day, switching between various programmed satellite stations. Suddenly it went to the Hits channel or something like that and wouldn't switch. No matter which pre-programmed button I pressed, it stayed on that channel. Trying to use the up or down button didn't do anything either. It was fixed after I turned the car off and then back on. Did not need to use the other fob to fix it. Was weird, but only happened once so far.

Glad it worked out.
It is a really convenient feature, once you know not to sit on your keys.
I use it all the time while on my way to the car when it's been sitting in the Florida sun. It's so nice to be able to air it out before I get to it.
I just learned the part about rolling the windows up and closing the sun roof with the physical key.
It's fun to find out these little MINI secrets.
As far as your problem with your radio settings, I don't have a clue.
I hope you get it figured out soon.
I have one favor to ask of everyone that has this radio problem. Please let your MINI Service Department know about this. I thought the problem was me but I guess not. The more people that let them know the quicker it will be fixed.
Thanks again,
Thanks again,
This is a first! I knew the answer!!!

Put the key into the physical lock and twist to the right and hold it there - Windows + sunroof + convertible top (R57 only) will go up
Hold down trunk button - Alarm will sound, if you have that option.
I still cant figure out why they give us a trunk button... It just pops it open on the countryman and to lift it up you need to grab the MINI logo to open it anyways
Kyle
Yeah see I like the way my wife's Passat's trunk button is...hold down the button to open the trunk and it pops completely open, you don't have to open it on your own. Wish ours did that. Although it would need the addition of heavier duty actuators to lift the boot.
That might better reach your target audience of people experiencing the same issue who otherwise won't see your post.
Good luck!
I hope it's solved for you soon.
Hold down unlock - Roll down windows and pop sunroof (or for R57 people hold down unlock until all windows are down, and hold it down again and the roof will detract)
Put the key into the physical lock and twist to the right and hold it there - Windows + sunroof + convertible top (R57 only) will go up
Hold down trunk button - Alarm will sound, if you have that option.
