automatic kickdown problem
automatic kickdown problem
Hi all, just joined today. I have a 2009 Mini Cooper-S automatic and the gas pedal doesn't push past the kickdown point. This recently happened along with my low tire light coming on (the low tire light isn't an issue but it has been a recurring problem as one of my tires steadily loses psi.) I wonder what may be the cause and what I can do to fix it outside of taking it to the dealership. Thanks!
Is this somehow different than the way it used to feel?
Since these cars are drive by wire, if there is a problem it's probably in the throttle position sensor connected to the pedal, you might make sure you don't have a floor mat or something getting in the way of the pedal travel, other than that it pretty much has to be in the sensor if the pedal isn't moving the way it used to.
