re-mapping question

First let me say thanks for all the info put out here on the stutter/re-map issue. I've been at the dealer for service since Thursday. I had a perpetual gear shift malfunction message (auto) that led to a full replacement of the gear selecter assembly. While in I had them replace two pieces of bad chrome. (They were sent the wrong side handle, leading to another delay of return until tomorrow)

I asked that the car be re-mapped while in due to the stutter I experienced on the third day of ownership. (Bought my used '11 All4 with 15,000 miles mid March). I was told today that they didn't because the tech couldn't duplicate the condition.

My SA did say that they were hoping that when the gear shift selecter install was complete, it would call for a software update, and that would take care of it. I was very explicit in my directions with the code numbers on here that I wanted this done.

So, my question is, has anyone been successful getting their dealer to do the re-mapping without duplication of the symptom? What rationale did you use to get them to perform?

I had no problem either, Just gave them the sim #. My only issue is the steering after the update has changed and is way to loose now..
