countryman antenna

Has anybody changed the stock antenna to the stubby? I ordered one last week I wonder if it will change my reception at all.

It just seems the stock antenna is too long for the car.

Thanks for the help.

You may have trouble with some fringe stations, but, most will be fine. GPS is not impacted at all.

I ordered the stubby antenna from Craven Speed and so far it works perfectly. I haven't had an issue with any FM/AM stations or satellite radio.

I've had no problems with my Craven stubby antennae. Same one I had on my R56, works like a charm and looks so much better. I've used it with sat-radio, navigation (which I believe is in the base and not the antennae), as well as HD and non-HD stations.

I bought a generic one on eBay for $10 and haven't had any problems with it yet.

No problems with the stubby antenna I got from CooperSport. Originally bought it for my Clubman and just transferred it over the Countryman.

No reception loss, and clears the bottom of a roof/ski box.

Just another observation. When travelling with the kayak on the roof I take the antenna off and screw in a sawed off bolt with a red ball on the end. It sits up tight and reception is ok, except the fringe stations. No effect on sat.
