iPod connecting issue
iPod connecting issue
Hello
I just purchased countryman s with iPod connection kit. Only problem is that when I click on USB, it just tells me to connect USB? I do not have mini connect btw....
I tried with iPod touch 2nd gen and iPod nano... Can someone provide me with feedback please?
Thanks!

Can anyone give me part number for y cable they are using currently that worksnwith mini without mini connected option?
I am trying to see if I got the wrong y cable. I heard somewhere there are two different y cables for one with mini connected option and the one without. Can anyone confirm this please?

I am not quite sure if this tip will help or not--it worked for me when I was facing difficulties connecting my 5th gen. iPod--but you could try updating the firmwares of both devices. If they are already updated, you can try connecting them through the USB/Aux ports of the car and turning them off then on to see if the car will detect said devices.
I hope this works! ^___^

Ok, sorry for the late reply! ^_^; Hmm...on my cable I found the numbers "2 178 623-01." I threw away the package that the cable came in, so I hope that this may be what you're looking for!
Thanks for your help! Does your mini have mini connected option or just the standard one?
Edit: nvm just saw your sig and figured out. Anyone got their iPod working with 2179623 y cable on mini without mini connected option?

I have found the if we are not connected to an iphone4 then it will come up under "auxillary", not "ipod" when the ipod touch is connected.

My iPhone4 works great with the Y connector that came with the bluetooth/iphone option. However, when I plug in my iPod (2nd or 3rd gen, not sure) it just says "OK to disconnect". It will play and I can navigate using the radio controls, but I am unable to use the controls on the iPod. Is that by design? Anyone know a way around this? I's so much easier to navigate using the click wheel than the radio buttons.
