Turn signals not clicking in rhythm?

Has anyone noticed that the turn signals actually go out of rhythm or change speed?

I've noticed that no two cars will blink in rhythm either.

I know your CM is brand new, but do all the lights blink at the same time when they blink? You must have seen this once or twice: car with a rapid firing blinker because one bulb is out. unless it's in the car's computer to blink morse code for MINI or something like that, I think they should stay on a beat.

Mine's not a Countryman, but a 2011 MCS, and yes, I've noticed that the cadence on the blinker will sometimes slow. At first I was seriously worried that it was an electrical or battery issue (and it may very well be), but given that nothing bad's happened, and it does still happen on occasion, I'm writing it off as not serious--although if I were a piano teacher used to metronomes it might bug the crap out of me.

It's good to know that I'm not alone.

I've noticed this w/ my 2011 justacooper too. I'll be sitting at a traffic light or something and have my blinker on, and it's almost like a heart murmur, one click comes too soon, and then it slows down and after about 2 or 3 clicks its back to normal. Thought I was going crazy lol

Well, I'm not alone, then. I guess it's yet another "feature."

blinkers are just a glorified 555 timer circuit connected to the trigger leads of a relay connected tot he turn signal lights. any fluctuation in the voltage to the circuit will change it's timing. the voltage regulator tries to accommodate but none are perfect. more modern cars rely on the engine computer alone to control the blink pattern, but the key is simply voltage.

I bet if you turn on the fan to max, play some loud music, turn on the headlights and high beams, put your foot on the brake, etc. and time your blink pattern then start turning 1 of those things off, you will see different results. oh, and rev the engine one time too with everything on.
