CM rear view mirror vibration

Anyone noticed the rear view mirror vibration, pretty constant at 40mph +. This is the mirror installed with the Convenience PKG.

Makes the image blurry and comes and goes.

I use the door mirrors more because it is a pain.

Who else has noted this issue?

Don

My R53. But only when I pin it on the highway it can vibrate some, reminds me of looking at cars in the rear view mirror while driving a Grand National Stock car....

So far, 4200 miles, mine is rock solid with no vibration. Are you sure the tires are balanced and round. That would explain the vibration picked up in the mirrio but too little to feel in the steering wheel.

Have not checked the balance and roundness, it will be at the dealer next Wed. I will mention that when I drop it off for an out of cycle oil change.

Around 3K on the CM, wife's daily driver, so it bugs me when I get to take a drive.

You can hold the mirror with your hand and it stops. We shall see.

Remember this is on the New Countryman any model, ours is an ALL4.

Anyone else?

For whatever its worth, I doubt its a tire in the round issue. Can be going fast and have it be still, but if I hit a bump or a rough patch of road its when it starts vibrating. Not any particular speed either. I think simplest answer is probably the right one: the grip on the mirror just isnt that tight...

MINI of Loveland confirmed the mirror shakes and blurrs on our CM.

They confirmed on a CM they had in staging did the same thing, the submitted an engineering puma to see if it will be fixed or if MINI will bother.

Yep mine drives me nuts and has since Day 1. Took it in to dealer and they couldn't fix it so ordered me a new one. I need to get back in for the new install.

my cms all4 does not have any vibration in the mirror

neither does my dad's cms all4

both of us have the "standard" manual dip mirror, neither has the Convenience PKG

mine is a manual, dad's is an automatic

+1 - Mine drives me crazy as well. At times the car can be so quiet....and then all of sudden that mirror starts rattling. It's embarassing when I have someone in the car - makes the car sound like it's not screwed together very well.

No vibrations at all with mine at any speed that I've ever noticed. All4 manual. I have the standard mirror with a Union Jack on it. I don't know if that matters. I also have the sensor below it for the wipers... Maybe that stabilized it some more....
