Finally! A Cargo Net for the Countryman!

Frustrated that MINI couldn't offer a simple cargo net (other than the one that covers the whole area) and mounting hooks, designed to carry mostly groceries, I was forced to take matters in my own hands. Thanks KIA! The Soul cargo net does the trick. I zip tied it to the lower rings and then wrapped the top corners over the shelf tabs and voila! I now have a cargo net for the watermelon that always wants to roll around back there or to store a few bags of groceries! I was tempted to drill one round hole in the mostly useless top tab on each side and zip tie the tops there but I passed on any permanent changes. The KIA part number is 2K017 ADUP0.

Nice adaptation!

Does the net have some "give", bungee-style, or is it not very stretchable?

Thanks,

It's very stretchable and the pouch on the left is useful for smaller things.

Just an update that after two grocery shopping trips the net has been really useful. I actually bought a watermelon each time and it went right in the net along with a couple of plastic grocery bags and I sat a larger double paper grocery sack behind the net and the net kept it from tumbling over. Well worth the $22 I paid for it on eBay!

That was one of the best ideas/upgrade (and inexpensive) mods. I took it one step further and used the load floor rollers as the lower anchor point and the rear shelf rollers as the upper anchor point. No issues when using either. Thanks for the tip!

Awesomeness! I will have to try it that way to see how it compares. As long as the grocery bags still fit in fine at that angle it makes it more removable, no zip ties are needed and the net is out of the way when not in use! Thank YOU for pointing out yet another usage.

Good post, I've been using a Corolla net for awhile, sure comes in handy for those items that like to move around back there!

How and where did you attach it?

I attached it on the upper shelf rollers and on the tie downs using small bungee cords.

Good job! Do you have the cloth stiched center and leather outer seats with three across back seats? If so, interested in trading interiors?

Great idea! I actually did not tie it down. The weight of whatever is in the net keeps it stable and easily removable if the seats need to be put down for more storage.

Seriously,
thank you!
I ordered mine Saturday and it just came in today. $15 on eBay for the win!

What's the equivalent of Reddit gold on NAM? Lol

I used a cargo net out of a Jeep Grand Cherokee (Model ZJ) and it fits perfectly....really comes in handy when I go grocery shopping!
