Rear seat adjustment

According to my guidebook the rear seats in my CM can adjust fore and aft. But when I sit in them and try to move them, nothing happens.

Ideas or am I crazy.

Are you pulling the handle under the seat?

Yes, and no matter what way I pull it and try to move the seat, nothing happens.

It is driving me crazy as all things make me believe it should move and nothing does.

Unless BMW/MINI-USA have made a feature change, the rear seats move forward and back the same way as the front seats, independently, both of them.

This is also true on the 40-20-40 bench seat, at least on the 40 sections.

Zazoh, we have the optional bench seat on our 2 month old CMSA4. I don't have the car with today, so I can't verify this, but if I recall correctly the bottom portion of the seat is split 60/40, and both sections adjust fore and aft with the handles mentioned above. But the seat backs are split, and adjust in the 40/20/40 manner you mentioned.

Took hubby outside and he used to brute strength and got them moving. Once he had moved them once they were light and easy to move. He felt that they were stuck, perhaps from never being moved.

Glad I wasn't totally crazy, as knowing they should move but wouldn't was really bugging me.

Now if only the rear seats reclined more, that would be awesome.

Yep, we have the bench seats, and ours were reluctant to move the first time either. Had forgotten about that.
