Thumbs up Cold Morning...Heated Seats...WooHoo!

The nighttime temperatures are drifting toward freezing. I started up the CM4 this morning and, for the first time, pushed the heated seats button. Instant gratification! The ride to work today was certainly more pleasant than in any of my previous vehicles.

-Maybe I should have considered heated seats earlier

Yup, it's that time of the year. One of many little things that I keep re-ordering on my cars that I don't know how I lived without.

User hint: If you don't want to go the 3 - 2 - 1 route when turning them off, just push and hold the button.

Sealy - Who's buns appreciate instant gratification.

I am STOKED about my heated seats-to-be! My husband has them, and while we don't need them that often down here, you can't beat nice toasty warm buns on the few weeks a year we do need them!

Yeah, they're great and seem to work almost instantly! This is unscientific, but in my wife's car (not a BMW/MINI) once the seat heater is on, it's on and stays at a constant temperature. In my Countryman (and my previous Clubman) it "feels" like the heat dials itself down over time, which I like.

So, you get the full boil when you jump in the car and the car is still cold, but when the engine is warm, the seats settle into a simmer...

If you have Mission Control turned on, it even reminds you that the seat warmers are on, and that you can save fuel by turning it off.

Our Volvo has one speed bun warmers that come on full tilt and then back off to simmer. I haven't had the three speed bun warmers in the MINI higher than the first setting, it feels about the same as the Volvo. I'm afraid I'll fry my butt, if I put the MINI's bun warmer in third!

Whenever my wife puts on her heated seat I always go "SNIFF SNIFF Hey, I smell bacon!"

It never gets old.

I have them on my Infiniti, which is not going to be my car as of tomorrow, my CMS is finally here...getting it at 11:30 tomorrow. The best thing about heated seats even in sunny So Cal is that they ease your back if it is bothering you. I love them and can't wait to try them on my Mini I will post photos of her (not sure of the name yet) by the weekend...if I can remember how to do it!

geez i guess i've been lucky (?) enough in portland to enjoy them now for several weeks! i like the way they come on strong and back off, also the lumbar heats in just the right spot! i kinda miss the heated steering wheel in my old audi, but i'm not missing the constant discovery of oil leaks!

I love about Mini Heated-Seat is that once you press that button, it heats up high and then cools down to the level of selection. My wife's Nissan Quest slowly warms up to the level.... Love my Mini and love instant gratification.

That's actually what ended my waffling about "wasting" money on heated seats in Texas... like I said, we don't need them very often, but I have Fibromyalgia, and man oh man, is that heat going to feel good on my back after a long day hunched over books and my laptop!

And congrats on the imminent arrival of your CMS!!!
