Is there enough room under the CM for that vibrant 1141 resonator?

Yes, it has to fit in sideways and it will hang down slightly. I'm lowered and never had an issue

Hello everyone!

I just introduced myself in 1st gear page and now i would like to detail my machine and share several opinion with all members, specialy those ones who have N18 engines and like to devil them:

SPECS:
Mini R56 Cooper S from 2011/N18
115.000 km (+- 72.000 miles)
White silver metallic

UPGRADES:
Bilstein B12
Ferodo DS2500 Pads, braided brake lines and Motul RBF600
JCW Sway bars
Full Milltek exhaust with Akrapovic 100 cell downpipe
ITG panel filter
Direnza Intercooler
One step colder plugs (Mitsu Evo)
Custom tune (19 psi)

This is my third car at home. I just use it in weekend to enjoy the driving, and sometimes i put him on track (normally only 2 x 20 minutes)

My rule is that the car must be user friendly in normal driving, normal roads, but capable to put a smile on my face when i smash the accelerator, and being capable! I know is contradictory...but i try

My next step is to buy a better IC (in portugal we have a hot weather), and go for a manic tune, maybe a stage 2...

Wich power do you believe i will achieve? 230-240 bhp?

Sorry for any mistakes with my english

On average a stage 2 with downpipe, and intercooler will make 230whp

Thank you Mario

I see you are a pro in Mini world!

Just more a few questions. Manic tune have some options, like linear throtle, cold start delete, water cooling down on temp...

Is possible to ativate Pops and burbles in a car that don't have sport button, like mine?

Is there any more custom options, that i should know?

Considering i have a tune in my ECU, before i sent the ECU for a dealer i need to put first the stock map on it, or any manic dealer can do that - assuming that i want the stock map on my SPS switch.

Any help in very welcome!

Thank you....

I just wanted to add my extremely positive experience with @MarioKart and my maniac stage 2 tune. I went from the JB to this, and it is amazing how much better it is.

I've been going back and forth with Mario for over a month, almost two months. I even felt guilty for all the free advice and help he was giving me during my "journey". Finally, I had time to meet up with him and have him install the tune.

Everything went exactly as he said it would. Most importantly the car performs flawlessly. It is amazing how different it is now. There are no drawbacks to having this tune done. Just have to control my speeding better now...

Here's my setup:
2015 Countryman S
Automatic
VIP Air Intake
VIP Catless Downpipe
Maniac Stage 2
1422 Spark Plugs

Planning on getting a Wagner Intercooler in the future and dyno it for kicks.

Highly recommended. Thanks again Mario.

For those of you with a catless downpipe, how have you been passing inspection?

I've been told the Manic Stage 2 tune will eliminate the CEL due to the downpipe but will NOT set the OBD catalyst readiness monitor. This is crucial for me as the car will pass visual with the secondary cat but will not pass the scan here in PA for OBD readiness monitors.

If this is true I'm considering throwing in the towel and going back to stock because its a pain in the butt to swap out the downpipe annually.

You should get the Wagner IC buddy. Just installed the Wagner Performance IC, got it for $550 online from Etektuning. Was running the Manic stage 2+ map B with the stock IC and the pure joy stopped after less than 5 mins on the highway because of it being heatsoaked; monitored the IAT using DashCmd and it reached 110F and sometimes higher on WOTs. With the Wagner installed, WOTs IAT temps on DashCmd shows constant 70-80F, and I felt the difference even before even reading the DashCmd.

Hey everyone, could you please advise me what manic stage I can get?
Here are the mods I currently have on my 2012 MCS:

Wagner IC
Cooler Spark Plugs NGK ILKR8E6
Miltek Catless DP
Stock exhaust / intake

Not planning on doing an exhaust or intake anytime soon since I like to keep it quiet and with the catless DP it sound just right.

Is this enough for a stage 2 or stage 2+? Or do I need the intake and exhaust?

Thank you very much!

You will be stage 2. 2+ would be if you wanted exhaust flames or maps for Methanol created
Thanks

catless downpipe for 2013 GP

I have some questions about exhaust systems for stage 2 tune. Will catless downpipe with straight front pipe and center pipe and a rear muffler reduce too much torque at low rpm? I installed Supersprint exhaust system but I haven't installed dp yet. I wonder if I need to install a front pipe with cat with the catless dp to make sure there is enough back pressure to turbo?

You won't have any problems doing a catless downpipe and stage 2 tune. Power will come on quick

Back pressure is a myth. You don’t want back pressure. You want scavenging and proper line up of exhaust resonances (pulses) which is one of the purposes of the twin scroll turbo design.

So it means I would not loss power by delete all cats in my exhaust system. I mean I just keep a muffler at the rear.

Car running very rich black smoke after stage 2. also very loud pups and backfire from exhust almost embarrassing. I am catless all the way to muffler.a friend drove behind me and told me he can see flame from exhust.
Love the power but feel hesitation that I think coming from too rich.
How do I tame down the exhust popping and can the motor richness be fixed?
Thank you
Ben

Black smoke from running catless. Pops and bangs are only in sport mode. Did you get the BBQ mode? What exhaust are you running?
