Drivetrain Coopercrap R60 Exhaust worth it or not
Coopercrap R60 Exhaust worth it or not
Looking at the Coopercrap exhaust. Looks to be half of what other cat back exhausts cost, but I don't see much info about it on here.
It also appears that it doesn't use a muffler at all, just a pipe straight back from the first cat through the midpipe. I'm assuming that isn't exactly going to pass emissions.
Any feedback/opinions on this exhaust, good or bad?

The muffler shop that installed my Magnaflow said that turbo engines really don't need a muffler because your exhaust is sent to the turbo. They even offered me this kind of setup to try out but like you I questioned the ability to pass emission testing that we have here in CA.
Good luck with your decision.
By the way my Magnaflow exhaust out the door was roughly $400. It is not the kit from Magnaflow but what the shop pieced together and it is the same muffler that is in the kit. The ceramic coated tips added $90 to the expense.
Good luck with your decision.

I am pretty sure I could add a muffler to the Coopercrap exhaust in place of the midpipe.
I have seen #10435 added to the CM with good results.

Just had mine installed. Welds are great. Overall quality is good. Sound is fantastic with the resonator delete. I do still have my 2nd cat. I do have a complaint and it might just be the unit I have. the tips stick out about 2 inches from the bumper. That will be getting changed with new tips in the future with some black tips further back on the pipe. The shop could have fixed it by moving my tips back, but I figured I want Dimisa tips anyway.
Demon510 is correct though, a shop can probably build you one cheaper. My shop quoted me about $400.00 total. I know others have had even cheaper quotes. Considering I bought mine from someone who went a different way and labor was a hundred, I came out cheaper. That will all change when i want to change out tips though because of the extra labor (not counting tip cost since that is on me)

i am thinking about the coopercrap for my r60, i hate the exhaust tips on it thought and how far the stick out but i will ask the shop to cut the dimisa tips from my stock exhaust and put it on the coopercrap. i cant ask for anything for 450 bucks. beats spending 1k.
