Oil temperature sender location on N18?

Can someone please tell me where the oil temperature sensor is located on the N18? My OBD 2 gauge reads oil temperature which means there either is a sensor or oil temperature is calculated based on coolant temperature.

The oil pressure sender is located on the oil filter housing, I believe. I cannot find any definite information regarding the oil temperature sender. Someone said there was none and another person said oil temperature was derived from coolant temperature. I find that a little hard to believe. There's definitely an oil temperature signal coming via the OBD2 interface.

I do not believe there is an oil temperature sensor. Its actually kind of rare to have one, unless you're going to control some engine function from it. Also,, just because there is a signal on the bus for oil temperature does not mean there is an actual sensor...

oil temp is probably a calculated value created by the ECM as it is on the Gen I cars.....there's no sender there either

(Unless you got the two separate gauges under the heater controls, then only those had a sender which took the place of the engine oil drain plug)

I made a mistake resetting the oil service indicator- Stuck at 3,100 miles

Interesting that estimating the oil temperature versus using sensor data. has been implemented.

Only thing I was thinking was a ( oil pressure sensor) .
I have one under the vacuum maker .it is left of the water temperature sensor about level with the water temperature sensor.
you have to unplug a small vacuum line under the vacuum pump to even see it.
I have a 2014 R59 with a n14 or n18 in it. It is the same kind either way.
same thing as buying a timing chain and tool to change a timing chain in one.
this is the only one , that I know to having anything to do with oil pressure sensor.
