The Foxwell NT510 Elite seems a good option at a reasonable price but I don't know if it allows me to program the ECM for HID lights. Or is that strictly a job for the dealer?

 

I have one of the older Foxwell 310 I think. I doubt this one does much programming either. You can turn on and off some options normally not accessible by the consol. But programming is not likely an options...

I use a and BimmerCode and BimmerLink on my phone. You can code the car AND register a new battery (just that function alone more than paid for itself vs going to a dealer...) as well as all the normal OBD II diagnostics.
