Conveneient ground connection/post inside the cabin?

I want to hardwire my GPS via a piggyback fuse adapter. After doing some research I found out that there is at least one ground post behind the fuse panel in the passenger side footwell. However, I do not want to remove all the trim and the seatbelt anchor. Is there a more accessible ground post in the cabin, maybe behind the kick panel under the driver side dash? Thanks!

You can land a ground wire anywhere, as long as you get a decent connection

A proper threaded ground terminal post would be nice.

I would tap into the fuse box. That's an easy one...

For positive, yes. But the ground connections appear to be hidden behind the fuse panel and they are not accessible without removing all the plastic trim in the passenger side footwell. and the passenger seatbelt anchor. Unfortunately, I have currently a back injury and need to find a quick and easy way to do this. Or I'll wait a month.

you didn't like this answer first time around but I'll try again

remember that the entire chassis is the 'ground' .... so long as you have a clean connect to the 'body' you are connected to ground

SO virtually ANY mounting point for some other component that hits clean metal of body = GROUND

AKA drill a small hole and run in a sheet metal screw >>>> TADA >>>>> you made a new ground

I'll add to what Capt bj said: It needs to be bare metal. It's obvious but paint won't make a good ground connection so if you drill a hole clean-up the paint a little around the hole before putting you fastener. Then add a little paint to prevent rust... there are many stud fasteners you can buy that makes it easy...

Personally if you'r in a hurry I would identify one of the ground wires within the fuses and buy a fuse bypass harness to tap into it. They make some you plug first instead of the fuse, and then you can put your fuse on top of it.
So many options there :p

if you drill a hole and run in a screw you HAVE clean metal to metal contact .......no way around that one .... unless after drilling the hole you paint . . .

No doubt, but not a ton of surface area to make it reliable. In other words it doesn't hurt to clean it up a little while at it to avoid going back to it later...
