Speaking of N14, JCW N14, N18, what years (production dates if you have them) were what motors in the Roadster?

The N14 engine was only made for the 1st half of 2012 for the JCW then changed over to the N18 for the rest of the production run.
I don't know about the S and Justa.

Facelift cars all got the the better n18 (apart from jcw)

if you have a vin you can check the build sheet with cars in the grey zone between the swap

Ours was built in July 2013 and it has the N18 engine I'm pretty sure...

just to bring this up-to date, it has been faultless so far but mileage is still relatively low at 12k
car is being sympathetically upgraded to my taste for light track work with gp2 or better parts from mini if available or improved aftermarket if not

Great car! I just traded my 2014 JCW Coupe in at the end of April for a 2020 JCW Clubman. I loved the Coupe but as a DD the suspension got to be a little harsher than I want, so the Dynamic Dampers take care of that. It was a great car to race around with though. The dealer only gave me $11k for it.
