2013 JCW Guage Install
Hey all, just installed a Christmas gift from my wife and thought I'd summarize some observations on installation. I had several notes from about 4 other threads that I used which I'll summarize here.
- Supposed to take 1 hour, but it took me 2. If I fully read the directions and didn't have to decode the color coding, then 1 hour it would be.
- Make sure you take off the steering wheel top and bottom covers before you start (yeah I missed that). I think there is a special tool to actually get the steering wheel column cover off, but I used a Vinyl wedge to do it. The top comes off first.
- Most of the plugs have a "locking cover" which needs to be removed before you replace/add any wires.
- There is a part where you need to switch out some wires on an existing harness (in one thread they said section 6, but on my instructions it was section 7), that harness is attached directly under the steering well. It is not the harness for the Tach.
Lastly, why? I like the OEM look and all I really wanted was the temp gauge.

Looks great, yea you have to use the single pod as you have the Openmeter on the other side.
Thanks for the info, this will be helpful for other R59 owners
